Dominance ... the Proof of Ignorance

 

We can define ignorance as not understanding that ADVANTAGE does not equate to ADVANCEMENT.
You see mankind has been on a journey of Advancement from the time he arrived on this planet. He was able to do this because he is blessed with the gift of Reason as the species known as homo sapiens.
Note that he started off in a cave ... huddled together ... apprehensive about everything out there. From the moment someone introduced the use of fire he gained an Advantage. From the moment he invented the spear and the knobkerrie, he gained an Advantage.
Eventually he invented the gun ... and secured a huge advantage.

So the need to secure Advantage is deeply embedded in our psyche ... having first been implanted when we were in the cave ... afraid of everything ... and needing to stick together and gain Advantage ... just to survive.
So we see the need for Advantage repeated throughout our history which is bad story of conquer and be conquered ,,, dominance and subjugation ... the Greeks did it ... the Romans did it ... our own King Shaka Zulu, Mzilikazi and Lobengula did it ... and Colonialism was the order of the day and night.
This culture of needing Dominance was sure proof that, as a species, we were still IGNORANT, because Advantage by one grouping was never going to Advance our species as a whole.
Sure proof of that Ignorance became manifest when we crucified Jesus Christ for insisting that "love thy neighbour as thyself .. and do unto others as you would have them do unto you".
It took two (2) World Wars and the Holocaust to induce a paradigm mindset shift in our species. We realized, at last, that this "might is right" mode of Dominance was Ignorance and we signed off on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the United Nations in 1948.For the first time our species had the culture of Human Rights and the concept of Equality.At last mankind committed to joining hands in order to ADVANCE our species and dump the culture of ADVANTAGE seeking.
We Africans NEED to understand that it was the UDHR that ensured the ending of Colonialism ... not our heroic struggles.
"Globalization" followed ... in a spirit of international cooperation for the good of the whole species known as man. Obviously, since this was a huge step out of ignorance and into enlightenment it was always going to be problematical ... but still it was a huge step towards ADVANCEMENT.
Now we see IGNORANCE fighting back. ISIS in the East. "America First" in the USA. "Brexit" in the UK. "Racialised Reform" in South Africa ...as the likes of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of ISIS ....Donald Trump of America ...Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage of the UK ...ANC Leadership of South Africa ...
all commit to the IGNORANT culture of ADVANTAGE ... racial ... ethnic ... tribal ... xenophobic ... ADVANTAGE ...Instead of continuing the sacred tenets of the UDHR to ADVANCE ALL HUMANS AS ONE SPECIES.
As regards South Africa, it is somewhat understandable that the indigenous majority imagined that a racialized model of reform was needed to reverse the grossly Ignorant racist model of apartheid.

It is NOT needed .. NOT AT ALL !!. Apartheid legacy can be efficiently and effectively reversed in terms of a "NEEDS" based model, i.e, those that are still disadvantaged shall be "affirmed" .... those that are still disempowered shall be "empowered".
Race based Affirmative Action and Black empowerment is sure proof of IGNORANCE ... as they serve Racial Advantage not National Advancement ...
just like APARTHEID.🤨🤒😖
