Aung San Suu Kyi spent over two decades being persecuted for being a voice for truth, reason and justice.
For that she was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize and, like Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, straddled the World as a giant leader of human rights.
Then she ... then she ... then she ... surprisingly defended the Military Junta in Myanmar ... denying its diabolically cruel, inhuman and degrading pogrom on the Rohingya humans ...
just as Shona Zimbabweans , in the main, supported and defended ZANU-PF, despite its genocidal killing of and suppressing of Ndebele humans ... and then White humans ...
and just as the Nguni tribes, in South Africa, support the ANC despite its 26 years of utter failure prosecuting a policy that is an exact mirror image of the evil racial apartheid model.
In each of these instances the support is premised on a belief that there is an immediate advantage that accrues ...
ignoring the disadvantage to those who are different ... different racially ... and/or tribally ... and/or ethnically.
The premise is attractive, even addictive, because the crocodile is "eating others".
Now the World is witnessing, with blinding clarity. what is happening in Myanmar, as the crocodile has turned and is now eating this once great lady and her support group that is actually the majority ...
just has has happened in Zimbabwe ..
and is playing out in South Africa ... with an ANC leadership that is rapacious in its corrupt feeding ...
in a situation where about seven (7) million of our people are living almost like rats in shanty towns ... just for a start ...
and the country stumbles down the "junk status" ladder.
